The Middle East Forum (MEF) seeks interns for five projects:
All internships are unpaid: transportation costs for interns working out of MEF’s Philadelphia office will be covered. Distance internships available. Academic credit and publishing opportunities are available on a case-by-case basis.
Three can be done from anywhere:
Campus Watch reviews and critiques North American Middle East studies (MES) bias with the aim of improving education – keeping watch on scores of professors. It confronts anti-Western politicization of scholarship, intolerance of alternative views and apologetics for Islamism.
Responsibilities: monitor MES activities; provide content for articles and communications and maintain a research database.
Islamist Watch combats lawful Islamism on the premise that while violent jihad gets headlines, nonviolent jihad – in the media, courts, schools, public squares, and ballot boxes – gets results. It counters corporate and governmental support; tracks tainted campaign contributions and boosts anti-Islamist Muslims.
Responsibilities: conduct research into Islamist operatives and organizations; write and edit articles and maintain a source database.
MEF Development maintains and strengthens relationships with current donors as it builds new relationships with prospective donors.
Responsibilities: uncover potential donors using the web, social media and foundation databases; support the development team and draft fundraising materials.
Two require a presence in Washington, D.C.
The Israel Victory Project steers U.S. policy toward backing an Israel victory over the Palestinians to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict. This new paradigm seeks to convince Palestinians that the Jewish state will endure, drawing on Israel’s earlier and successful strategy of deterrence.
Responsibilities: research organizations and individuals active in the pro-Israel and peace/conflict resolutions arenas; write and edit articles and maintain a research database.
The Washington Project works to translate the Forum’s ideas into U.S. policy. It identifies American interests toward the Middle East, Israel and Islamism and influences policy-makers through intensive educational efforts in the capital.
Responsibilities: research legislation, policies and positions and assist with congressional outreach.

· Interest in the Middle East, Islamism, and U.S. policy.
· Basic agreement with the outlook of the Forum (on which, see here).
