In yet another instance of a disturbing pattern on campuses across the country, anti-Semitic posters referring to “an evil Jewish plot” were discovered this week at the University of North Carolina (UNC). As JNS notes, this incident follows “what was decidedly viewed as an anti-Israel, ant-Zionist conference” co-sponsored by Middle East studies programs at UNC and Duke University in late March.
Likewise, Amy Rosenthal of the North Carolina Coalition for Israel points out that the Duke/UNC “three-day conference on Gaza that was entirely from the Arab perspective” preceded two weeks of anti-Israel events on both campuses, culminating in the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP)-organized “Israeli Apartheid Week” at Duke.
The connection between rabidly anti-Israel rhetoric from academics, student groups who are turning campuses into battlegrounds, and anti-Semitic vandals, or worse, who act on such incitement is obvious to anyone who chooses to see the truth.
