In a recent Friday sermon at Masjid Darussalam in San Francisco, the largest mosque in San Francisco, extremist preacher Dr. Hafiz Mohammed Khalid Sidiqqi railed against “Zionist agents” (read: Jews) who he says work for the Satan and were responsible for killing former Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi.
The sermon was documented by MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute).
Morsi, an Islamist from the Muslim Brotherhood Party, was ousted in a military coup in 2013 after tens of millions of Egyptians took to the streets to protest his oppressive and racist policies. He was subsequently arrested for breaking out of jail in January 2011 after his arrest with 24 other Muslim Brotherhood leaders.
Siddiqi preached that Morsi was “only trying to help humanity by bringing the truth of Islam” but was stymied by the “forces of evil.”
His website says he has been preaching in the Bay Area and all over the United States since 1983. Siddiqi earned a PhD in Quranic Studies from the University of London and a master’s in Quranic exegesis from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt (the world’s accepted authority of Sunni Islam).
