B’nai Brith Canada has expressed concern that a federal grant was used to produce a “Canadian Muslim Voting Guide: Federal Election 2019" containing anti-Israel, pro-BDS sentiment. The guide was released by the Canadian Islamophobia Industry Research Project at Wilfred Laurier University and its lead author, sociology professor Jasmin Zine, also received a federal grant in 2018 for a project called “Mapping the Canadian Islamophobia Industry.” Campus Watch has reported on Zine’s participation in the annual conferences for UC Berkeley’s Islamophobia Research & Documentation Project, which is headed by notorious anti-Israel activist Hatem Bazian. As Jihad Watch’s Christine Douglass-Williams notes, “antisemitism . . . is entrenched but largely unrecognized among purveyors of the ‘Islamophobia’ subterfuge. It is time to connect the dots.”
