People of all religious backgrounds joined together Sunday to promote interfaith dialogue.
The ‘Children of Abraham’ interfaith collective hosted a talk by the co-founder of the American Islamic Congress, Zainab Al-Suwaij.
The group hopes to bring cultural and religious understanding to the community.
After Binghamton University professor Richard Antoun was killed by a graduate student from Saudi Arabia in 2009, a memorial fund was set up in his honor to help with the cause.
“He thought that inter-religious understanding was an important thing to do to find peaceful resolution of differences among people and to try to break down barriers of distress and hatred,” said John Goddell.
The Richard Antoun Memorial fund provides a $3,500 grant to help promote interfaith dialogue and understanding in the triple cities.
