“Jet Set” Academic to Be Professor of Islam [on Tariq Ramadan]

Muslim theologist Tariq Ramadan has been appointed the first professor of Islam at Leiden university.

The chair is paid for by the sultan of Oman.

Ramadan is known as a moderate, but critics have accused him of being a wolf in sheep’s clothing and of spending too much time jetting around the world giving speeches than doing research, the Volkskrant says.
