A tenured professor at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania is under fire for numerous offensive posts on his Facebook page that denounce the “homo lobby” and “dirty Jewish Zionist thugs.”
Kaukab Siddique, a professor in the public university‘s Department of Languages and Literature, was criticized in 2010 for publicly denying the Holocaust, and most recently has questioned the women who have accused comedian Bill Cosby of sexual assault, The Daily Beast reported.
“Most non-Muslims behave like he did and he also had lots of money. ... What I can’t understand is why it took so long for the violated women to come out against him,” Mr. Siddique wrote July 8.
He offered five explanations, including that Mr. Cosby “paid them off,” “Many women are sluts,” “American women are slaves of rich men,” “Random sex is quite acceptable in America,” and “They don’t have families like Muslims do who would take revenge for rape.”
In discussing the Josh Duggar sexual abuse scandal last month, Mr. Siddique wrote that the “homo lobby” is “taking revenge for the Duggars’ criticism of transgender and homo activity,” The Daily Beast reported.
He also blasted American Freedom Defense Initiative President Pamela Geller, whose Muhammad drawing contest in Garland, Texas, was attacked by two Muslim extremists in May.
“If Zionist Pamela Geller has her way, the racists might try to enter mosques. Muslims should prepare themselves,” Mr. Siddique wrote. “Don’t be scared of these dirty Jewish Zionist White Supremacist thugs.”
Lincoln University condemned Mr. Siddique‘s rantings, but said no action will be taken due to the professor’s right to free speech.
“His latest activities, like his earlier writings, statements and activities, are an insult to women and other groups singled out,” a university spokesperson told The Daily Beast. “Dr. Siddique‘s statements and assertions are his own, and they in no way represent the views of Lincoln University, its administration, faculty or students.”
“Like all faculty members, he is entitled to express his personal views in conversation or in public forums, as long as he does not present such opinions as views of the University,” the spokesperson said.
Mr. Siddique responded to The Daily Beast’s “attacks” on Wednesday: “Daily Beast article indicates, these people are mentally defeated. They try to undermine your job, so that you will be scared and abandon your First Amendment rights. The article indicates, they have already gone to my job. The Daily Beast attack leaves out points which would have diluted its beastly effort.”
