At first I gave President Obama the benefit of the doubt when I noted his Middle East policy, particularly when it came to Israel. I classified him as an inept amateur in his dealings.
However, my perception changed when he designated additions to Israeli cities and towns outside of the temporary, pre-1967 armistice lines a bar to peace and any negotiations, contrary to previous U.S. policy and even the demands of the Palestinian Authority. Now, with his recent coddling of Syria and Iran, refusing to support the uprisings in those two nations and his encouragement of the overthrow of PresidentHosni Mubarak of Egypt, my view is that he is terminally anti-Israel, following in the footsteps of his mentor and friend Rashid Khalidi, holder of the Edward Said chair at Columbia University.
Mr. Obama‘s bias against Israel, his encouragement of the pro-Arab J Street group and his abysmal lack of concern about an Iranian policy bent on destroying Israel now only confirms my belief that he is the most anti-Israel president we have ever had, both in words and actions.
