Two Minnesota Charter Schools to Close for Fall [incl. Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy]

Despite some last minute scrambling, two Minnesota Charter schools won’t reopen this fall.

Thursday was the deadline for Charter Schools to get approval for their oversight plans under new state guidelines.

To stay open, every charter school must have an authorizer that keeps tabs on its finances and academics.

Two schools, Lake Superior High School in Duluth, and TIZA Academy in Inver Grove Heights failed to meet that deadline.
