UC Davis Speaker Tackles Issue of Arab World’s Uncertain Future [on Hamza Yusuf]

Hamza Yusuf, co-founder of Zaytuna College in Berkeley - one of the nation’s first Islamic universities, will address the Arab world’s uncertain future and its relationship to the US tonight at the UC Davis ARC Ballroom at 8 p.m.

His speech, “Denial is not a River in Egypt - Islam & Politics in the Middle East,” is free and open to the public.

Yusuf who rejects the “us vs. them” mentality, has influenced a generation of young American Muslims who look to him for inspiration, said event moderator Sunaina Maira of the UC Davis Asian American Studies Department, which is co-hosting the event with the UC Davis Muslim Student Association, Ethnic and Cultural Affairs Commission, CAIR California and Zaytuna College.
