As President Trump settles into his second term, his administration has launched a transformative agenda in the Middle East aimed at strengthening U.S. influence and protecting its strategic interests. Gregg Roman, Director of Middle East Forum, will discuss the administration’s potential early moves and their implications for the region’s geopolitical landscape while taking an in-depth look at the strategies that have shaped American foreign policy.

Mr. Roman will explore the administration’s renewed focus on curbing Iranian aggression through enhanced sanctions and pressure on Tehran’s proxies, including Hezbollah and the Houthis. It will examine efforts to solidify partnerships with Gulf allies like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, while recalibrating the United States’ role in multilateral agreements and regional coalitions. He will also discuss how these policies aim to counterbalance growing Russian and Chinese influence in the Middle East, ensuring America remains the primary security guarantor in the region.

Additionally, Mr. Roman will share the Middle East Forum’s blueprint for the Trump administration, in which the Forum lays out its vision for reshaping Syria’s future in the wake of the Aleppo offensive, its approach to fostering stability in Iraq, and the recalibration of U.S. military engagement to achieve strategic objectives with minimal risks. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how these policies impact U.S. allies, adversaries, and the broader balance of power in the Middle East.
