Morrisons offered muslim family alcohol as apology for selling them non-halal meat

A blundering supermarket offered a Muslim family champagne to apologise for selling them non-halal meat.

Majid Khan was furious when he realised his son Yousuf, three, had eaten a mince pasty wrongly labelled cheese and onion.

But when he rang Morrisons to complain the manager offered them a bottle of bubbly, strictly banned in Muslim culture.

Mr Khan, 28, of Cardiff, said: “It is ridiculous and ignorant of our faith, not just once but twice.”
