Muslim nursing homes expected within four years

Danish institutions don’t always meet the needs of different religious groups

Islamic schools have existed in Denmark for years now. Immigrants with Turkish backgrounds are now looking to open high schools and plans for a number of Islamic nursing homes are in the works, reported daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

The nursing homes will serve food prepared according to muslim practices and holidays will be celebrated such as Ramadan and Eid.

Behind the plans is Muslimernes Fællesråd. The organization hopes the first home will open its doors in two to four years followed by others in major towns across Denmark.
