Omar Suleiman Demands the Release of Islamist Terror Operatives

Speaking at a rally for Aafia Siddiqui - a prominent Al Qaeda operative convicted of attempting to murder Americans - American’s leading Sunni cleric, Omar Suleiman, demanded her release, and condemned the “system” that also convicted cop-killer Jamil Al-Amin, as well as officials of Holy Land Foundation, a fundraising body for the terrorist organization Hamas.

Decrying Siddiqui’s conviction as one of the “greatest violations of human rights in the post-9/11 era,” Suleiman demanded that the “system” “reopen the cases of these political prisoners that were put away in sham trials.”

Of the Holy Land Foundation officials, or “HLF 5,” Suleiman denounced the “lengthy sentences for feeding Palestinian children” and condemned their conviction “on the basis of forged translation documents and some anonymous Mossad official.”

Other prominent clerics backing the campaign to free Aafia Siddiqui include members of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA) as well as Yasir Qadhi, who wrote that “Her entire story is a tragedy, and her subsequent trial, life sentence, and treatment are a travesty of justice and a stain on America’s claims to uphold human rights.”
