OU Muslim Student Association to host political activist during Islam Awareness Week

A political activist will speak on campus next week about American Muslim identity and experience.

Linda Sarsour, a minority and women’s rights activist widely known for her work as a co-organizer of the 2017 Women’s March, will give a talk hosted by the OU Muslim Student Association and the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

The event will take place Feb. 28 at Oklahoma Memorial Union’s Meacham Auditorium. Registration will begin at 6 p.m., and the talk will begin at 7 p.m., according to the Facebook event.

Natasha Saya, human relations senior, served as president of the OU Muslim Student Association last school year and is currently the Community Outreach Fellow for the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
