Raheel Raza awarded Senate of Canada 150 medal

The co-founder of a Muslim organization dedicated to fighting extremism has been awarded a Senate of Canada 150 medal in honour of her advocacy.

Raheel Raza, the co-founder of Muslims Facing Tomorrow, was awarded the medal in Toronto on Monday by Conservative Senator Linda Frum.

Raza is a prominent voice in support of women’s rights within Islam and against extremism. The author of Their Jihad, Not My Jihad: A Muslim Canadian Woman Speaks Out has previously called for a ban on wearing face veils in public.
