The Houthis and Their Puppet Masters

MEF Chief Editor Jim Hanson Discusses American Strikes in Yemen

The U.S. military is conducting strikes to disable the ability of the Houthis to shut down shipping traffic in the Red Sea. Jim Hanson, MEF Chief Editor, explains to FOX News this is a vital mission to ensure the global economy functions properly. He also explains that Iran is the real problem as they fund, equip, train and assist the Houthis in their terrorist activities.

FOX - Is the White House making it clear they’re willing to target not just the Houthis, but also any targets linked to Iran?

Hanson - This was a reminder for everyone that the United States is the global superpower, and that along with that, we have a global economy and we can’t allow a two-bit bunch of dirt-scratching terrorists to shut down shipping lanes, and we can’t allow the puppet masters forthat terrorist group and Hezbollah and Hamas and the rest of the troublemakers in the Middle East. I’m speaking of Iran-- to continue to get away with this.

I think it wouldn’t surprise me if the administration were to turn some Iranian surveillance ships that have been helping the Houthis into oil slicks on the Red Sea.

FOX - Interesting what you just said, Can you talk to us about the difference between how President Trump is handling this versus Joe Biden? Is Trump giving the commanders in the field the authority to assess the situation and take out the targets to restore, you know, American deterrence in the region and protect global shipping? Is that what’s going on, too?

Hanson - 100%. The Biden policy followed the Obama policy of cringing capitulation to anyone who showed power around the world. The Trump administration has empowered his leaders, and he picked a tremendous bunch of leaders to go ahead and take the fight to our enemies.

There’s no reason we should fear anyone on the planet. And right now, there are a bunch of low-level troublemakers who have been getting away with that. Those days are The United States is not to be trifled with anymore.

FOX - Jim Hanson, thank you so much. Thank you for your service to America. I appreciate you.
