Campus Watch Responds:

In response to Campus Watch’s campaigncalling on San Francisco State University (SFSU) to end its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the terrorist-friendly West Bank An-Najah U., the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) issued a public letter to SFSU president Leslie Wong. True to form, MESA grossly misrepresented the Middle East Forum and CW, failed to address any of our complaints, and called on Wong to ensure the MOU’s full implementation. The authors conveniently left unaddressed CW’s documentation of Najah’s overt affection for terrorists--a love so strong that Hamas called it “a greenhouse for martyrs.”

So egregious was MESA’s attack that MEF president Daniel Pipes penned a response, published October 9, 2016, at History News Network. A taste:

MESA, always eager to flaunt its anti-Zionist credentials, responded with alacrity: on Sep. 19, its dual leadership of Beth Baron and Amy W. Newhall issued a letterto Wong that needs to be read in full to appreciate its factual inaccuracy and moral obtuseness. It does three things: whitewashes Najah’s history, defends an SFSU faculty member from alleged “harassment” by us, and smears MEF’s motives.

We urge you to read Pipes’s response in full, both to correct the record and for the pleasure of watching an hopelessly biased organization run by scholars who never had a harsh word for a Palestinian terrorist receive their comeuppance.
